My Practice Reset

If your practice isn't delivering the results, freedom, or fulfilment you hoped for, this course will help you build the systems, financial confidence, and business mindset needed to create a sustainable, thriving private practice.

Designed for emotional and psychological health practitioners โ€” counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, and allied health professionals.

This course is for practitioners at any stage of their career who want to strengthen the foundations of how they work, earn, and operate.

It supports you to improve systems and operations, streamline administration, attract consistent ideal referrals, understand your finances with confidence, and build a practice that is both profitable and sustainable.

Most importantly, it helps you create a business that supports both your clients and your life โ€” professionally fulfilling, financially viable, and aligned with how you want to work.

Whether you are refining an established practice or preparing for your next stage of growth, this course gives you the structure, tools, and clarity to build something sustainable long-term.

The Quiet Reason

Most of us have never asked another practitioner what they actually charge.

What they actually earn. What their week really looks like. What they took home last year.

We tend to keep these things to ourselves.

In the absence of real information, we benchmark against our fears instead of the facts. We undercharge. We overwork. We assume everyone else has it figured out.

Many of us don't know where to go for trusted advice, support, or guidance. So we keep working it out alone โ€” often repeating the same mistakes, second-guessing decisions, and carrying the weight of practice by ourselves.

My Practice Reset doesn't ask you to share any of this with anyone else. Instead, it gives you a structured way to review every part of your practice, guided by someone with three decades in private practice who has supported hundreds of practitioners through the same challenges.

You don't have to figure it out alone. This course gives you the framework, knowledge, and guidance to build a practice that is profitable, sustainable, and aligned with both your clients and your life.

By the end of this course

A practice you've looked at honestly โ€” and reset on your own terms.

By the end of this course, you will have a clear, honest understanding of your practice โ€” and the structure to rebuild it on your own terms.

This is a practical, implementation-focused course. Every module guides you through decisions, reflections, and actions using workbooks, templates, calculators, scripts, and structured exercises that apply directly to your practice as you go.

You will also be supported with mindset work that helps you step into visibility, confidence, and sustainable profitability as a practitioner and business owner.

Designed to suit different learning styles, the course includes video, audio, transcripts, guided workbooks, interactive tools, and practical frameworks that support both learning and implementation.

By the end of this course, you will have:

  • A clear direction and foundation for your practice
  • A practice grounded in your values and identity

Built by a Practitioner

Hi. I'm Sam.

I'm a registered psychotherapist with 30 years in private practice. I am based on Waiheke Island. These courses are deeply personal to me. As a practitioner, I've spent years supporting in various ways, including helping practitioners to build practices that align with their goals, values, and vision for life.

Along the way, I've gathered lessons from my own journey and from working with hundreds of practitioners facing similar challenges. These courses are the result of that experience.

They are the courses I wish I'd had when I started out โ€” the practical business guidance that so many of us never received in our clinical training. My hope is that they help you build a practice that is not only successful, but sustainable, fulfilling, and truly your own.

"You trained for years to do your clinical work. You deserve a practice that honours that โ€” financially, structurally, and personally."

Questions

Frequently asked

Is this NZ-specific?

Yes โ€” entirely. All content is written for the NZ context: IRD, ACC, NZAC, HPCA, Privacy Act 2020, NZ professional bodies, NZ insurance market, NZ tax thresholds. There is no US or Australian content repurposed here. This is built from the ground up for Aotearoa.

Which practitioners is the first cohort for?

Practitioners working in the emotional and psychological health field โ€” counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, and allied health practitioners. Future cohorts will open to wider professions.

Is this CPD-eligible with my professional body?

Yes โ€” framed around the relationship between business competence and client efficacy, which is how every NZ professional body recognises professional development. You can claim it as CPD hours and as a tax-deductible PD expense.

When do I pay?

You reserve your founding cohort place without paying upfront. Payment is processed when your cohort starts. Afterpay is available across four payments of $125 NZD.

I've been in practice for over thirty years. Is this still for me?

Especially. The longer you've practised, the more likely parts have drifted further than you realise. Fees, referrals, systems, the way you spend a Tuesday afternoon. The course is built for fresh eyes โ€” and the longest-serving practitioners often need them most.

I'm one year in. Won't this be over my head?

No โ€” the course explicitly meets you wherever you are. Module 1 places you on the journey (Building, Sustaining, Transitioning) and the rest of the course adapts to your stage. Early-stage practitioners often get the most value because they're embedding the right structure before things get messy.

I don't have time. When would I do this?

Self-paced, no cohort pressure, lifetime access. Some practitioners do a module a week. Some do it across a whole year. The lessons are short, the workbooks are lean, and you can dip in around your caseload.

I'm worried I'll find out I've been doing it wrong.

You won't. Every module gives you explicit permission to say "this is working, and I'm keeping it." The course is an audit, not a judgment. You only change what genuinely needs changing.

What's the time commitment?

Forty-eight lessons in total. Most practitioners complete the core modules over eight to twelve weeks at a steady pace. Lifetime access means there's no pressure โ€” come back to any lesson anytime.

When does the founding cohort close?

The founding cohort offer is limited and closes once we have enough participants for a meaningful first cohort. Pilot cohort starts August 26th, 2026, with a new cohort beginning each month after. Once the founding offer closes, the price moves to $997. The $497 rate will not be offered again.
